Kuala Lumpur, Feb 8 - Malaysia’s trade in 2016 remained resilient despite the uncertainties in the global environment. Total trade grew by 1.5% to reach RM1.485 trillion, compared to RM1.463 trillion in the previous year, the Minister for International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mustapa bin Mohamed announces.
The increase was contributed by higher trade with China, which expanded by RM10.09 billion, the United States of America (USA) (↑RM6.87 billion), Republic of Korea (↑RM3.56 billion), Taiwan (↑RM3.29 billion) and Saudi Arabia (↑RM3.04 billion).
Kuala Lumpur, Feb 7 – Former Chatime Master Franchisee for Malaysia, Loob Holding Sdn Bhd, re-affirmed that all its 165 Chatime outlets use only halal-certified ingredients.
CEO Bryan Loo said it has come to his knowledge that certain quarters were trying to cast aspersions on the halal aspect of the business.
Kuala Lumpur, Feb 6 - The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) is turning 5o this year.
MIA Chief Executive Officer Dr Nurmazilah Datuk Mahzan says turning 50 is a major milestone for an institution while upholding the public interest. MIA membership has increased from 1,619 accountants in 1980 and now, to more than 33,000 accountants registered.
